Business Description
During the 1990s, Communicast developed enhanced technology for existing web conferencing products. The first major partnership was formed with Net Podium, which was later acquired by Intervu and then subsequently acquired Akamai. Communicast continues to provide development services to other web conferencing providers, but has also developed its own web conferencing platform with an architecture servicing clients around the world. Being “in the trenches” with customers and building applications based solely on their requirements has given Communicast a unique prospective not enjoyed by other firms, which have built their products on early speculation for a market that was almost non-existent at the time. Communicast’s flagship web conferencing product, Event Center, takes advantage of Communicast’s understanding of market requirements and leverages new technologies that were previously unavailable for development of competitors’ web conferencing products.
